Cooper is not the beautiful, golden guinea pig of Jinny’s dreams. He’s trouble! Not only can he speak and read, he can disappear, hover in the air and teleport small distances. He’s obsessed with junk food and full of tall tales, but worse still, Cooper is convinced that Jinny’s kindly, elderly teacher, Miss Bunney is a witch. Come on, Cooper, really?

For Jinny, it’s not easy owning Cooper, her annoying talking, disappearing guinea pig with a love of biscuits and a talent for sniffing out trouble. Especially trouble of the witch kind! Is the woman burying strange things outside Jinny’s house another witch? And why can’t Jinny bring herself to be friends with goody-two-shoes Katie, the new girl next door? What do you think, Cooper? … Cooper?!

When Jinny and her brother, Tyrone, find a ring in Miss Morgan’s attic, they have no idea just how much danger they’re in. That is, until Tyrone awakens a genie, triggering a centuries old curse. Can Jinny and Cooper save Tyrone before the genie’s curse steals all of his goodness, trapping him forever? And can Cooper resist using the ring to wish for a cake as big as a house? Don’t do it Cooper!

A weekend at the Majestic Beach Hotel sounds like fun to Jinny, until Cooper turns up and causes trouble. When Jinny and Cooper discover the truth they find they’re in more trouble than ever before. Has Cooper finally bitten off more than he can chew? Cooper … is that you?

  1. Thank you sooo much for those fantastic Jinny & Cooper novels. My 6yo daughter adores them and we had some great laughes when reading them together. They are amongst her all time favourite boks! She also has two young male guinea pigs who she adores, and wishes one of them was like Cooper. Can’t wait for books 3 and 4!

  2. I have just read the book my teachers big bad secret to my granddaughter Edie , we both had a big laugh . Edie did notice on page 80 that miss bunney has been called Mrs bunny . Do not miss a trick these little ones .
    We heading off to get the second book .

    Just asking, but I am printing off some Jinny and Cooper pictures and I was wondering where is Tyrone? Does he have a picture? Has he been described enough for a picture?

    1. The publisher hasn’t done a picture of Tyrone yet, although I think it would be nice to have a picture of him as well. I’ll be sure to ask them the next time I speak with them. 🙂

        Just wondering about how Jinny and Cooper – Revenge of the Stone Witch dosen’t have a video trailer yet? If you do make one I would love to see it asap!
        I tried copying some of all of the book, magical creatures and they were really hard to draw (especially the Sea Bogle)! But I always like challenges, but not competing. Hopefully the pictures come out soon so I can get colouring!

        Originally book 2 was going to come out later in the year but was changed last minute to come out at the same time as book 1 and we simply didn’t have time to do both trailers.
        I’d love to see your picture of a sea bogle. I had a pencil drawing of what I imagined him to look like on the wall next to my bed for a while. Perhaps I’ll post it on Instagram one day.

      Thank you! I love the trailers as well. Cooper eats as many biscuits as he possibly can and Humphrey is always practicing. I don’t think Cooper has eaten any magical cakes lately, although I hear that he has eaten a lot of non-magical cakes. 🙂

      Sephyre and Ryan – I like that part as well. I’ve personally never had my legs fall off from having my belly button poked (and I had an older brother who loved poking my belly button when I was younger). 🙂

      2. Sadly, it doesn’t look like I’ll be doing any more Jinny and Cooper books as they weren’t popular enough for the publisher to ask for more. But I will be working on other things later in the year (although they won’t be on shelves for a few years yet).
